(Denver) – On this year’s World Mental Health Day, Fathom Events will release the teen drama What Rhymes With Reason for one night only to more than 650 theaters nationwide. The October 10 showing begins at 7 PM local time and includes a special message from the filmmakers sharing their passion for stories that address the mental health challenges facing today’s youth.

What Rhymes With Reason is reflective of other coming-of-age classics like The Breakfast ClubStand By Me, and The Goonies to tell a timeless story of hope for the youth of today. The film’s trailer runs the gamut of emotion, exploring mental health through the trials and triumphs of modern teenagers.

The family-friendly film follows six teens, led by the charismatic Jesse Brandt. Tragedy ignites the group on a quest to find a legendary landmark hidden in the Oklahoma wilderness. Together, they navigate the adventure while confronting the darkness within themselves. The all-star young cast of What Rhymes with Reason includes Gattlin Griffith (The Boys), Ricardo Hurtado (School of Rock), Giselle Torres (The Villains of Valley View), LaRonn Marzett, Katie Burgess, Juan Graterol and Bart Johnson (High School Musical). For many of the cast, the project was especially personal.

While it does not shy away from heavy subject matter, What Rhymes With Reason is ultimately a story of hope. For Gattlin Griffith, that was what made it worth making.“  I personally struggle with mental health every day,” Griffith said. “This story is important, and I’m honored to breathe life into it. The darkness is in all of us, but does not have to define us.”

Tickets for What Rhymes With Reason are on sale NOW and can be purchased at Fathom Events or at participating theater box offices. For a complete list of theater locations, visit the Fathom Events website (theater locations are subject to change).

What Rhymes With Reasonis produced by Kim Dawson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Jacob Snovel (Out of Exile), and Nathan Gardocki (Reagan). Emmy award-winning director Kyle Roberts helms the teen adventure, fueled by a passion for John Hughes movies and a calling to encourage youth across the world.

For Roberts, the key to What Rhymes With Reasonhas been earning the right to be heard by teens and families. That requires honest performances, an energetic script, and a killer soundtrack. Roberts’ “radically family-friendly” approach to filmmaking provides something entertaining and meaningful to be enjoyed by kids and parents alike.
