Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Rialto are thrilled to present a special two-day event, The Graduate, in select cinemas nationwide on Sunday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 26. The event also includes exclusive commentary from a Turner Classic Movies host, who will give insight into this classic film.
Dustin Hoffman’s Benjamon Braddock, adrift after college, is craftily seduced by Anne Bancroft’s icily-assured friend-of-the-family Mrs. Robinson. So it’s understandable that Ben’s dream girl Katharine Ross is a bit startled to learn that he’s sleeping with … her mother. Arguably, no other movie of the 60s – not even Bonnie and Clyde or Easy Rider – turned counterculture angst into popular culture. The biggest box office surprise of the decade, Oscar-winner for directing, Mike Nichols (among seven nominations), and Hoffman’s star-making breakout role, with Simon & Garfunkel’s score started a new trend in soundtrack music and one quotable moment after another. Plastics!
This film will be shown in the same aspect ratio as when it was originally released in cinemas.
